Parkshow 2013

The date was March 23, 2013, 7:30 in the evening at the Aero Space Museum in Calgary, a local fashion organization called PARK (Promoting Artists Redefining Kulture) hosted its sixth major event popularly known as PARKSHOW.

This event aimed to promote emerging artists, inspire the community and aid the growth of Calgary's culture scene expects a full house attendance with a total of 11 fashion designers will feature their collection namely: Apiana Que, Chantal Traub, NRT Fashions, Alex Folzi, Kelly Madden, Of a Feather, Serendipity, Bano eeMee, Emogene Couture, SUKA Clothing and Nicole Campre.

This is my 3rd year covering PARK and I'm just amazed how it was organized, this year was pretty unique, the venue was extremely awesome, lots of new faces both crowd and the models, the music was subtle and sublime, just the type of music I like which fits the venue as well.

But what I found so surprising was the pre-show dubbed Wearable Art show, it featured Apiana Que, Chantel Traub and NRT Fashions. Wood crates were scattered along the runway used as ramps by models acting like live mannequins. Initially it caused some confusion for most photographers and videographers but later found it amusingly unique. It went on for about an hour then everyone was called to take their seats and the show started just over 920pm.
